OneAmerica Launches Tax Exempt Website
New OneAmerica digital resource, a center of excellence built for financial professionals, is a testament to continued dedication in the 403(b) market
Indianapolis, November 15, 2016OneAmerica® announced the launch of a new Tax Exempt Center of Excellence (COE) website to serve as a central hub for advisors and financial professionals to access everything from market insights to information about OneAmerica tax exempt products and services.
OneAmerica has been servicing tax-exempt clients since the mid-1960s, a recordkeeping segment that accounts for roughly 32 percent of OneAmerica Retirement Services' overall book of business, and 40 percent of new business.1
“Given the regulatory changes over the last decade, it is a good time for the industry - which is dealing with increasing confusion - to get back to basics,” said Bill Yoerger, president of OneAmerica Retirement Services. “The new website is a testament to our continued dedication to this market.”

OneAmerica Retirement Services has 26 field offices, each intimately familiar with tax exempt plans.
Industry research shows the tax exempt market continues to grow, with participants reaching 24.6 million and year-to-date contributions up over 13 percent.2
Over the next three years, 403(b) assets are expected to grow 30 percent.3
"This is a one-stop-shop for financial professionals to access tax exempt specific industry information, marketing materials, training and education, and information on our products and services,” Yoerger added. “From a competitive standpoint, this is unique, and not something I have seen a lot of in the marketplace."
Among the highlights of the COE website are education and on-site learning sessions, which provide training on important topics such as leveraging culture to gain insight and perspective into how nonprofit organizations operate. The website also has a section with valuable resources on prospecting to uncover tax exempt opportunities.
"Some service providers are exclusively nonprofit and don't speak 401(k), while others cater to 401(k) only and are leery about tax exempt," said Kevin Kidwell, vice president, national tax exempt sales. "In today's world you can't be exclusive. You need to speak both languages because the industry lines have blurred. From an infrastructure and recordkeeping perspective, there are just a few providers with full-service capabilities to meet the needs of both markets ― one of which is OneAmerica.
