Anthem Senior Executive to Join OneAmerica

OneAmerica^® announced today that Karin Sarratt, who currently serves as vice president, human resources at Anthem, will join the organization in September as senior vice president and chief human resources officer.

In this role, Sarratt will serve as a member of the OneAmerica leadership team and be responsible for all aspects of the OneAmerica human resources function, with an early focus on culture-building, talent management and development strategies.

Sarratt has experience with large, complex and highly-regulated companies, and she has worked with multi-site executive teams to help them scope and respond to the challenges of connecting with associates’ needs.

During Sarratt’s tenure at Anthem, she led several of the human resources functions, including diversity and inclusion, talent management and talent acquisition, and has also served as an HR business partner for a variety of Anthem’s key businesses and shared services.

Before joining Anthem, she worked for International Paper Company for more than 14 years, serving in her last role there as director of human resources in Europe, the Middle East and Africa.

Active in community service in Indianapolis, Sarratt currently serves as an executive board member for the Indiana Sports Corporation, board chair for Forest Manor Multi-Service Center, and member of the UNCF Leadership Council for Indianapolis. She holds a Senior Professional Human Resources (SPHR) certification from the HR Certification Institute, and she is a Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP) by the Society of Human Resources Management.

She received her Master of Science degree in human resources development from Clemson University in Clemson, S.C., and her Bachelor of Science degree in telecommunications from Ball State University in Muncie, Ind. Karin, her husband Edgar, and two children live in the Indianapolis area.
