20 Interns Have Key Summer Assignments at OneAmerica®

Students bring college and community ties to national financial services firm

Indianapolis, July 16, 2019

Standing tall in the Indianapolis skyline as a major employer, OneAmerica Financial Partners welcomes 20 college students to its campus this summer as 2019 interns who are serving key support roles with business objectives.

They are working a 12-week assignment (May 20 to August 9) supporting actuarial, commercial mortgage, finance, IT, human resources, and marketing.

Interns will engage in the community through IndyFluence, a new collaboration of interns from major Indianapolis companies  on July 18 and the enterprise Innovation Day on August 1. At OneAmerica, they’ll be doing significant project work within their teams.

“Our summer interns are valued assets who reflect the future of the financial services industry and demonstrate the advantages of having university talent in the workplace,” said Karin Sarratt, senior vice president, human resources, marketing and communications, and community affairs.  “They gain experience from engaging with business-critical processes as well as community-service projects, and they provide us with fresh insight while helping to build our talent pipeline.”

OneAmerica® recruits from  campuses in Indiana and beyond. IUPUI has the most number of interns (six) followed by Purdue University (five). Indiana University, the University of Notre Dame, Wabash College, Butler University, Ball State University, Franklin College, Nova Southeastern and New York University are all represented among the OneAmerica intern ranks.

Many of the students were familiar with OneAmerica because their hometowns include Indianapolis, Westfield, Zionsville, Avon, Greenfield, Carmel, Noblesville, Greenwood and Monrovia.
