OneAmerica Hires Vice President to Lead Key Team

OneAmerica has named industry veteran Phil Loftus as its vice president of actuarial services. Loftus had previously been a director and consulting actuary at PricewaterhouseCoopers.

“Phil brings significant experience helping companies understand complex pension issues and developing strategies to adapt in a dynamic marketplace.  This is an important role for OneAmerica as we continue to grow our defined benefit practice to help our clients navigate the rapidly changing environment of retirement planning,” said Bill Yoerger, president of Retirement Services (RS) for OneAmerica.

In his vice president role, Loftus will lead the defined benefit actuarial team, bringing experience and innovative ideas that stem from approximately 20 years of established success in actuarial consulting.

Loftus earned his bachelor’s degree in actuarial science from the University of Iowa.  He is a Fellow of the Society of Actuaries and an Enrolled Actuary, and he has worked through Junior Achievement, at times pairing with the Actuarial Foundation, to equip advanced math teachers in middle schools and high schools to educate students about personal finance as well as opportunities in the actuarial profession.

He joined OneAmerica on February 1, 2016.
